About Us

Who We Are

A Litigation Practice Focused on Special Education Law

We are a New York–based law firm dedicated exclusively to special education litigation. We represent families in complex IDEA matters where educational access has been denied and legal enforcement is required.

This practice was founded by Hugh Jacobson, an experienced New York attorney who previously built and led an established law firm focused on complex legal matters across multiple areas of law (Straus Jacobson). Drawing on that background, Mr. Jacobson founded this firm to apply disciplined legal strategy to special education matters—where enforcement, precision, and preparation directly affect children’s futures.

Our work is grounded in careful case analysis, evidence-driven strategy, and clear execution. We do not operate as advisors navigating the process or persuasion alone. We litigate to enforce legal obligations and secure meaningful educational access for children with disabilities.

We approach each matter with structure and control, building cases around evaluations, expert analysis, and a complete factual record. This allows us to deliver consistent outcomes in high-impact cases while maintaining the standards expected of a serious litigation practice.

Our Mission

Enforcing Rights Through Disciplined Advocacy

Our mission is to enforce the rights guaranteed to children with disabilities under federal and New York law. We represent families in special education matters to secure appropriate services, supports, and placements through strategic advocacy and disciplined legal execution.

This work is mission-driven and intentional. We focus on outcomes that are educationally meaningful—not symbolic—and hold school districts accountable when programs fail to meet legal and substantive standards.
